The purpose of this website is to help watch collectors identify non-electric men's vintage Hamilton watches manufactured between 1917 and 1969.

The Hamilton Watch Company produced some of the highest quality and most sought after watches in the world up until the end of 1969 when manufacturing operations in the United States ended.

On May 3, 1972, it was disclosed to stockholders in the company's annual report that due to losing a combined $25 million dollars ($189 million adjusted for inflation in 2025) over the last two years, the company was forced to stop making watches altogether and placed its overseas facilities up for sale. On May 16, 1974, the Hamilton brand was purchased by Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère (SSIH) which was a holding company of Omega and Tissot.

Hamilton is currently a subsidiary of The Swatch Group who continues to make watches under the Hamilton brand today. The brand is rich with history having been responsible for many horological firsts. The contributions to the American story and pop culture are equally as impressive.
